Out of Hours information
If you need medical help outside of our surgery hours, telephone us on either 282600 or 282700 and listen to the answerphone message carefully. This will inform you of the correct service to contact which
will change depending on the time that you require the help.
Out of Hours Care
When We Are Closed (6pm – 8am on weekdays, all day Saturdays and Sundays weekends and Public Holidays) please telephone 111 who will put you in touch with the appropriate service.
In the case of urgent need, when the practice is closed, you can also call 111 to obtain advice. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered and / or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Urgent Care Centre
Your local Urgent Care Centre is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week including weekends and bank holidays. The address is University Hospital of Hartlepool, Holdforth Road, Hartlepool TS24 9AH.
Emergency Contacts
For emergencies between 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday, please telephone the surgery on 01429 282600. Weekends and out of hours care are now covered by the NHS 111 service.
If you require advice or assistance during this period, please telephone 01429 282600 and listen to the recorded message carefully.
111 is the direct number for the NHS 111 service. Calls to NHS 111 are free from both landlines and mobiles. However, if you have a severe or life threatening emergency you will still need to dial 999.
Complaints and Comments
The practice aims to provide a friendly and professional service to all patients. However, if
you have any concerns regarding any aspect of our service, please let us know. All of our
team are aware of the practice complaints procedure and will be happy to help you. In the
majority of cases, issues can be resolved quickly by speaking directly to the practice.
The Practice Manager is responsible for dealing with complaints. A member of the team can
make arrangements for the manager to contact patients to discuss any issues they may
have.
However, if local resolution with the practice does not satisfactorily resolve these issues,
you can contact Healthwatch Hartlepool on 0800 254 5552. The address for Healthwatch is

If you do wish to make a complaint, you can either complain to the NHS service provider
directly as detailed above or to the commissioner of the service. This is the body that plans
and funds the service, in this case your local integrated care board (ICB).
You cannot complain to both.
